While the story could be considered something already seen, this is an old-fashioned drama in which the performances and the solidity of the script drive things and make the film better than it might seem at first.

All the cast does its job well but those who should be highlighted are Jonathan Pryce and Glenn Close, especially she, who gives the best interpretation of her career in years, I would say since Albert Nobbs in 2012.

Another little gem hidden and of very good quality.
