Review of The Wicker Man (2006) by Patrick B — 04 Dec 2009
It's an odd thing to come across a film that's so horribly bad that a person can't find one redeeming quality to it. When I view a movie I really try to enjoy it, and I look very hard to find something - anything - that can be appreciated.
Wicker Man might well be the worst film I've ever experienced, but there is one thing that I find redeeming: the WOW factor. Wow! as in how could the people associated with this film actually think it was good enough to ever attempt it.
From Nick Cage hijacking a bicycle to running around in a bear suit, it was one gigantic joke. The more I think about Wicker Man, the more it becomes a guilty pleasure. Oh, not enough for me to ever recommend it, but just enough to take it from a zero out of ten to a two out of ten.
So, maybe I am recommending it (in a way.) If you find some strange pleasure in train wrecks, by all means, watch The Wicker Man.
