Even as an essential unintentional comedy, one has to suffer through a lot of nothing before hitting classic 'dream within a dream within a dream' sequences, a bicycle robbery at gunpoint, a whole lot of punching women in the face and raising one's voice for no apparent reason, and a most undignified acting out of death.
Acquire lots of beer beforehand. Better yet, watch the "best scenes of Wicker Man" youtube clip to strip out self-defeating context.
