Review of The Wicker Man (2006) by Charlie M — 22 Mar 2011
Neil LaBute is not a bad filmmaker. Okay, let me rephrase: Neil LaBute is not a TERRIBLE filmmaker, but that doesn't stop The Wicker Man from sucking. Sure, there are some epic so-bad-they're-hilarious moments, and Nic Cage is all kinds of insane, including some good ones occasionally, but by the end of the film, all the plot's idiocies finally catch up with it in a conclusion so brutal its epic. Epically bad, that is.
It's better than Iron Man 2 though.
