Review of The Wicker Man (1973) by Andrew H — 31 Mar 2009
A slightly strange and weird film but is exceptionally well written. It can also become rather annoying when every so often some of the cast break into song.
However the suspense is fantastic and there are some excellent twists and turns within the plot and the climax at the end is very well delivered.
Edward Woodward plays the clean-cut firm but fair police sergeant very well indeed not just through dialogue but also by stature. Christopher Lee plays the â??creepyâ?? Lord Summerisle equally as well.
Overall quit a good film, which is very well written and well acted but is a bit strange throughout and a few scenes are a bit annoying.
