Review of The Wicker Man (1973) by Nelson P — 08 Oct 2010
It's one of the most original and daring "Horror" movies of its day and still holds up against most modern classics. Christopher Lee somehow outcreeps his hammer Dracula by going full drag with a face full of makeup, I never quite understand where he's coming from regarding his style of acting, but he always delivers.
It takes a very bold stance regarding religion ans its hypocrisies, but I never felt that it was preaching any certain viewpoint or ideology. It's not exactly the masterpiece many believe it to be, but its got some great moments and its influence can be seen in almost every scene.
