In sometimes feels more like an erotic musical, but The Wicker Man is superbly shot, laden with exquisite visuals, and has a strong performance from Edward Woodward. But the real shocker is the film's ability to achieve horror not through monsters or killers, but through sheer conflict of cultural values.
