Review of The Wicker Man (1973) by Alexei G — 13 Jul 2014
The Wicker Man is chilling, but not in the same way that modern horror movies may chill. The chills are gentle, but potent enough that you actually reflect what those stirs were. You may also find yourself riveted at the structure and twists of the film's story, particularly the final twist (which I do not wish to spoil).
I actually the film's caricature of Celtic paganism entertaining, and its conflict with the symbol of purist Christianity to be clever and just as entertaining, if silly on some levels.
