Review of The Wicker Man (1973) by Michael H — 05 Apr 2015
All I really need to say about this movie is that despite being made in the 1970s and having a lot of artifacts from that time, it is as powerful now as it was then.
That's not all I'm going to say, but if it was all I could say, then it would be enough. It is difficult to explain what is so impressive about this movie without spoiling it, but suffice to say that Christopher Lee offered to act in it free of charge, that was how impressed he was with the script.
If you have the time (and it is slow paced so you can't watch it in a rush), sit back and watch it. But whatever you do, avoid the disastrous American remake.
