I've been trying to catch as many Edward G. Robinson films as possible, & I find him fascinating. Sadly, he is forgotten by newer generations. Often a gangster but this film has a twist--he is both the gangster & the timid bookkeeper.
He turns in an incredible performance doing both roles. This was 1935 so this was very early for playing 2 pivotal parts in a film. It has been done over & over, even in soap operas now, but this was quite early on & remarkable.
Great script & fine acting!
