Review of The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights (2009) by Amrita S — 27 Feb 2010
I like the White Stripes and I like documentaries - I thought this would be fail-safe. While it was engaging, it was at times confusing and annoying. The frequent scene cutting and ineffective use of the map of Canada was mildly irritating, but the music was great - it merely reaffirmed the talent that is Jack White. And eating raw caribou was only the beginning... Unfortunately it revealed that Meg White is not terribly talented, which made me a bit sad. I think I was happier just loving the music. Still a very cool idea with a very cool band. B.
PS: I'll save you the question - there were no northern lights in the film.
