Review of The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights (2009) by Sara H — 28 Mar 2010
There's nothing I can or am going to say here that hasn't been said a bunch before, but this is a revealing, intimate portrait of a huge and somewhat mysterious band that did a full tour in Canada, and I mean FULL, like they played in Nunavut for frick sakes. And in between the regular sized shows, they did unannounced little show type things, playing on city buses, at youth shelters and bowling alleys, to name a few. Of course there's also the live performances from the bigger shows in between the candid stuff, which showcases a great live band doing their thing and making anyone watching being able to scarcely believe there's only two people on stage.
A great doc on a very talented and unique band doing something new and unique for their Canadian tour. Thanks guys!
