Review of The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights (2009) by Brian V — 01 Oct 2010
Haters will write this off as calculate image engineering, but who has time for haters anyway? Jack and Meg White embody true rock n roll and are everything a rock band should be, even if they are a duo and not a band.
This documentary follows them on a journey accross Canada, playing everywhere from parks to bowling alleys to buses. Constantly reaching out to their fanbase, they present themselves as being about sharing their music instead of generating cash for the industry machine.
Great introduction for the uninitated as well as a must for the hardcore fan. Music scenes are as great as we have come to expect although "My Doorbell" was a notable omission. Bravo!
