Movies about human trafficking really strike a chord in me. I consider human trafficking one of the most heinous crimes and it repulses me greatly. Every time I happen to watch a movie dealing with the subject I realize that human trafficking is very real, and even though not part of our general every day reality, it does occur daily somewhere in the world.

It wasn't the best film dealing with this topic I've seen, but it was much more violent and heart-wrenching than others. I thought Rachel Weisz's performance was wonderful, and I do understand the talk about her winning an Oscar for this performance. The story is of course captivating and deeply emotional. I didn't find the direction exceptional, and it could have done with a more memorable soundtrack.

One of those movies where the story leads the good reviews and not the quality of the movie. It was good, but not a masterpiece. It underestimates the film critic in you because of its strong story, and that is why it doesn't reach the level it could.
