Review of The Whistle Blower (1986) by Teresa S — 25 Jan 2010
Given the depth of the cast, I am disappointed that I must rate this movie so poorly. It is an intrigue movie, my favorite genre, and the premise is excellent. However, it is so poorly acted and directed as to waste all its potential. Caine sleepwalks through this film. A traitor is convinced to write out a full confession merely by asking him sternly. He is then killed in a struggle that doesn't even look like a struggle, more like a bullet came out the back end of a gun.
Y'know, in a world where there are zillions of disappointing remakes of excellent movies, here is an example of a movie that SHOULD be remade!
