Review of The Wedding Singer (1998) by Christopher M — 23 Aug 2010
This is the 1st Sandler movie that I saw all the way through and I must say I truly dig it, plus this being set in the 1980s helps also.
Something about Sandler movies must really appeal to most people, although a lot of the jokes are obvious, dumb, and all of his movies are pretty routine; product placements, 70 + 80s music, Freaky looking people, etc., there's something about them that u just can't help but enjoy and WS is the prime example of all of this, and it's so DAMN ENJOYABLE.
WS is my favorite along with THE WATERBOY. This is the kind of film u can watch with friends, enemies, along, and just have a good time. I also dug the cameo appearance of Billy Idol and of course, some 80s classics by ELVIS COSTELLO,Hall and Oates, Dead or Alive, and even MADONNA!
One thing bout Sandler, his movies usually have some great actors who rise above the material and not look like they're slumming. By all means, CHECK THIS OUT!
