Review of The Way We Were (1973) by Giffy G — 23 Sep 2009
One of the most ubiquitous movie songs ever. the song haunts the film, weaving in and out throughout the score. Hamlisch did a great job with this. Pollack is one of the great directors who doesn't get much attention.
I liked how the narrative concluded, with an element of realism to its conclusion. What really made the film work was the chemistry between Redford and Streisand and particularly the performances by both.
Streisand was great! Finally, if anyone can tell me what was with the hair motif throughout the film I would appreciate it. She is always playing with his hair and everyone comments on her hair. Couldn't figure that out.
