Review of The Way We Were (1973) by Meredith W — 02 Dec 2012
This is a beautiful movie. The ultimate teary tale of stay crossed lovers, filled with wonderful, intelligent dialogue and memorable lines. Katie (Barbra Streisand) is a working class political activist; she is dedicated to her political cause and will not hesitate to speak her mind.
Hubbell (Robert Redford), is the quintessential Wasp, living the American dream thanks to his good looks, charm and privileged grace. They fall in love, but their relationship is never a comfortable fit, despite audience urging.
Robert Redford and Barbara Streisand couldn't have been better in these roles and the haunting soundtrack only adds to the film's memorable elements.
