Review of The Way of the Gun (2000) by Marcus W — 08 Jan 2009
Oh, there's these two guys who do nothing for a living and then kidnap a woman who is pregnant with the surrogate child of a dangerous man though it then turns out that it could be the child of two other men - which is never explained.
And it features lots of people having chats and giving speeches for no good reason - in fact nobody can do anything in this film without first giving a speech about it. And I hated it, almost from the start.
The writer so badly wants to be the next Tarantino, but at least when Tarantino has a long conversation in one of his films, it serves (usually) to enhance both character and plot - not to mention being interesting.
This film is crap, and even easier to hate because it thinks it's clever with it's pseudo psycho nonsense and social commentary about the rights of gay men (there are no gay men in this film).
And at the end there's a big shootout between the two leads and a bunch of old men (?) and then they die and tell God that they aren't looking for forgiveness. Pretentious wank.
