Review of The Way of the Gun (2000) by Bruno P — 27 May 2009
Kidnap caper featuring two of my favourite Hollywood naughties - Ryan Phillippe and Benicio Del Toro (both on - largely- fine form here). After a cracking start and setting up a good premise the film wobbles somewhat throughout it`s middle act with a not entirely successful attempt to crowbar some human drama into the mayhem.
However, while on track the film cooks, often to a hilarious extent and makes good use of it`s cast including an excellent turn from James Caan as the bagman who might have a little more staked in the situation than meets the eye.
