Review of The Way of the Gun (2000) by J K — 17 Dec 2009
In essence, this film is a true-blue western, only with a present-day setting. The shootouts and drama are very similar to an old-school western. Even the town the final gun battle takes place was the same town they filmed the final shootout in A Fistful of Dollars by Sergio Leone.
They even use the same music. Del Toro and Ryan Phillippe are fantastic together and the addition of gruff James Caan adds to the cast's strength. Very edgy, very cool and very well-put together. Seriously underrated.
