Review of The Way of the Gun (2000) by Zach N — 21 Apr 2010
"The Way of the Gun" is written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie. McQuarrie's earlier penned film "The Usual Suspects" has grown to become a Top 10 of the 90's staple and also for the overall Top 100 Films of All Time.
But, this is truly an embarrasment for his name to exist on. The plot, acting, and story is so boring I could care less for the fate of the characters. It was so slow, poorly written, and felt more like homework than a movie.
The only reason this movie gets a 40% is because of two things. One is the film's score. It seems to make otherwise boring scenes a tad bit better. And second is the film's final shootout. This is the only thing I will ever talk about this film for or even remember it as.
One fantastic final shootout. It is easily in my Top 10 Shootouts of all time. It blows my mind. Otherwise, don't follow "The Way of the Gun" and follow the way that leads you away from this awful movie.
