Review of The Water Diviner (2014) by Jim S — 18 Dec 2015
The Water Diviner is a distinctly ordinary film. Sure it's not a bad film, but it is most certainly an average one. Russell Crowe directs and stars and sadly the material dips into cliche and sentimentality too much to ever let the film soar.
The story is a good one, a father goes back to Gallipoli four years after the death of his sons to find their bodies. But this film doesn't involve emotionally, rather it plods along to a fairly predictable ending.
