Review of The Warriors (1979) by Ben B — 27 May 2010
It's remarkable with its comic book-style transitions, a story that takes place in one night, the subtle allusions to The Odyssey, and the shrieking of Kevin Patrick Kelly's character, "Warriors come out to play!" In it's brutal hyper realistic portrayal of NY Borough gangs, Walter Hill still finds time for character development and touching moments, like the subway scene with Beck and Valkenburgh when they encounter kids from uptown.
