Considering that this is supposed to be John Carpenters big return to directing in over 10 years. This was just so incredibly clique and uninspired. If he was aiming to do it as a retread of 70's horror films, then I guess it kind of works on that level.
But if you judge it solely as a directorial comeback, it's a crushing disappointment.
