Review of The War of the Worlds (1953) by Dom W — 26 Apr 2011
I thought this was going to be much better. The acting is a little wooden and the romance isn't really that believable. BUT the special effects were outstanding and top notch for those times, and I actually liked the second half of the film.
The start is slightly boring, but if you manage to keep watching on it gets a whole lot better. Several moments were cheesy and cliche, but the war of the worlds is a true classic sci-fi film. The story is iconic in itself as well.
