Review of The War of the Roses (1989) by Amanda M — 24 Apr 2011
Strikingly dark comedy about - if you will - the downsides of love and what people are prepared to do in domestic disputes. Good performances from all included, with Douglas and Turner making a haunting portrayal of a couple at war.
Sometimes inaccurately presented alongside Romancing the Stone and The Jewel of the Nile because of the recurring cast, but its really separate from - and quite different than - said films. Memorable 80s movie with a dark theme and a lasting impact.
