Review of The Walker (2007) by Jessica D — 15 Aug 2007
I really like Woody Harrelson, but this movie certainly isn't his finest. I suppose it is meant to make us think about the flippant nature of friendship...when murderous circumstances come into play, just who really means it when they say they'll be everlasting friends? How well can one stay composed in the face of scandal, especially when family-tied reputations and expectations are on the line? But in the case of Carter Page III, are we really left interested to find out?
The cast is certainly star-studded with Lauren Bacall, Lily Tomlin, Kristin Scott Thomas, Willem Dafoe, Ned Beatty (Dad in Gremlins!), and Run, Lola, Run's hunky Moritz Bleibtreu as Woody's boyfriend. However, they each tend to fall flat on displaying strength of character - leaving The Walker one to walk away from without much credit.
