Review of The Walk (2015) by Bethany N — 17 Oct 2015
Being a big fan of the Oscar winning Documentary Man on Wire as well as Philippe Petit's book To Reach the Clouds I was looking forward to Robert Zemeckis's take on his mad walk between the Twin Towers and I have to say though it dose not come close to either the book or documentary it's a very enjoyable and well made film indeed, especially in the effects department which are just stunning.
Though I have a lot of praise for the film one major problem I had is with it's PG Certificate.
This film is not really made for kids to enjoy or want to see so why not make it more grown up?
Given the task at hand for Petit the film comes across too soft in his accomplishment of the task, there would be a lot more tension with searing all over the place!
Plus a particular fact that after Petit was released by the police he had a threesome with 2 girls he met while his girlfriend waited for him to return was completely left out though whether it was shot I do not know but apart from that this is a very fun film indeed and you would be a fool not to see this in 3D but better still IMAX 3D which was absolutely Breathtaking.
