Review of The Walk (2015) by Carlos I — 20 Feb 2016
This is one of those films, like 'Gravity' for example, that I would have enjoyed less if I had not seen it in IMAX 3D. I can see myself watching this movie at home again, and still be slightly entertained, but I cannot stress it enough, this film was made to be seen on the biggest screen possible.
The first half of this incredible story is not as great as the second half, which is a pity. I also did not like the narrating aspect of the script, I felt it was unnecessary. The walk itself, though, is breathtaking.
Aside from a couple of times where the CGI is highly noticeable, the whole spectacle felt strikingly real. Visually, it is stunning and spine-tingling... my palms were sweating even though I knew how it would end.
The last line and scene of the film got to me, it was a perfect.
