Review of The Walk (2015) by Jayakrishnan R — 21 Dec 2015

The Walk has two problems, one is that the real walk begins midway into the movie and it ends at just 1 hr and 45 minutes into it leaving the audience with another 15 or more minutes of treacle and cloying with surprisingly usual cliches. However, Robert Zemeckis directs with superb control and Joseph Gordon-Levitt gives yet another good performance. The film starts off with bad VFX but the walking scenes were superbly shot. One rather odd thing is that the events leading to the walk and the erection of the cable are more intense than the actual walk making me feel that the toughest and interesting part was to get the wire fixed and the real walk was something not so intense or difficult.
