Review of The Walk (2015) by Ricky G — 19 Oct 2015
The Walk was a movie I wanted to see since I saw the trailer, you for the talent from lead actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt and award winning director Robert Zemeckis telling the amazing story of French man Philippe Petit who wire walked the twin towers back and forth multiple times.
I loved this movie! I saw this in IMAX 3D and it is so beautiful and realistic in IMAX that you actually feel like you are there, I even felt anxiety at some points as a man afraid of heights. This is a real love letter to the twin towers, you see the towers so much in this movie and they're glorified as they should be.
The movie interested me the whole time from beginning to end though some things did become cheesy (like the cops) but I got passed that. Gordon-Levitt's accident doesn't bother you at all in this movie he actually pulls it off quite well, I'll keep this review short and sweet.
It's beautiful, acted great, directed beautifully, and a engaging story though there are boring and dragging parts here and there and some cheesy dialogue and characters. Go see this movie in theaters (preferably IMAX if you can) it's the best way to experience it!
