Okay.. This movie has ridiculous reviews because everyone feels strongly how a movie SHOULD BE. I will be subjective here and tell the details and hopefully the majority audience will agree with me.
1. Lead character is an idiot throughout whole movie, and will piss you off.
2. The movie is intense throughout and makes you keep guessing.
3. The direction and acting and cinematography are all great.
4. The ending is a big screw you audience on purpose because the writer/director wants a laugh for being 'unique' but not really.
I hate the movie and will never buy it PURELY on the ending that makes me feel cheated and confused and wondering if Hong-jin Na is trying to get audience to watch a sequel so he can make another confusing ending and get people to watch another sequel... This movie is great throughout and ending is a big F*** YOU to the audience, and that's why you see ALL the critics gave it 100% because they're all douchbags thinking they're above others.. The movie is great until the very end that pisses me off for leaving me hanging, wondering why I bothered.
