For the first act of the film, I was waffling between wondering what I was watching and what I was doing with my life. I pondered the motives behind some of the choices of the director/writer. I reached for some thread that made all of what was happening as this 3 hour film unfolded make sense.

My patience was paid off in the second half, when we hit the motherland of payouts, when suddenly everything becomes clear, and I understood the magnitude of what the filmmaker/storyteller was accomplishing.

It's quite an epic of the mythological and supernatural. I thoroughly enjoyed this film. I even thought this would've made a great TV series, with even more detail, but I can't say I didn't enjoy getting the entire story in one extended sitting, even if I was left with a few lingering questions.
