Review of The Wages of Fear (1953) by Hunter D — 11 Jan 2011
A white-knuckle epic experience that rivals the best work of Hitchcock in terms of the sheer volume of masterful suspense that lies within, the rich atmospheric backdrop it finds itself against only makes it more of a contender to stand neck-and-neck with the master's greatest work.
Spending a great deal of time building the atmosphere and the plight of the characters, the frightening situation the characters find themselves in becomes all the more terrifying. Movies this instense don't even get made today, it must be seen to be believed.
