Review of The Wackness (2008) by Jessina V — 22 Jul 2009
One of the most original "coming-of-age" films I've seen in a very long time. The premise is familiar: a teen graduates high school, falls in love, deals with family issues, finds friends in unexpected places, gets his heart broken.
....bla bla bla, but it's presented in a very unique context. Some excellent creative camera work and subtle touches of music and lighting make this quite enjoyable. Once you get used to the dullness of the lense used (perhaps matching the dullness of the characters themselves?), you'll enjoy it.
