Review of The Wackness (2008) by Ian P — 05 Nov 2009
Here's an interesting one. Kind of like what Kids could be if it wasn't exploitative garbage. One thing I liked about it was that it takes place in the early nineties, so you get the nostalgia factor.
Could easily fall flat but is reinforced by an unusual and talented cast. I don't know what the general consensus is but I like Olivia Thirlby. I was also impressed by Josh Peck. It's really easy to hate the kind of character he plays but I felt he pulled it off better than 95% of the actors who try.
Probably shouldn't score it that high, but these scores are a gut reaction anyway.
