Review of The Wackness (2008) by Nathan C — 22 Feb 2010
This film is like watching a modernized Holden Caulfield on screen, complete with a job as a marijuana salesman.
There are moments when the film works extremely well, and there are moments where tighter editing could have benefitted all involved.
An intereresting portrayal of coming of age in the early 1990/2000s.
Ben Kingsley and Josh Peck turn in surprising roles here, but the standout guest appearances by Famke Janssen and Mary-Kate Olsen make it worth a rental for those a fan of the artsy films.
Sony Picture Classics line is becoming more and more a line of films to watch, especially with Moon's release this past year, surpassing Focus films.
