Review of The Visit (2015) by Richard B — 03 Aug 2016
I was pretty skeptical of this film based on M. Night's previous few films (man there are some clunkers in that list), but I've always been a fan (I loved 'Sixth Sense', 'Unbreakable', and 'Signs' and never hated 'The Village' or even 'Lady in the Water' seriously), so I finally gave this film a chance after the decent reviews.
I thought this film was okay, but I did not care for the teenage boy and at times even rooted against him. I'll admit, I did know the "twist" ending before I saw the film, but I don't think it was truly a real twist as most people probably suspected it and its reveal just happened with no build up, which was totally fine in my opinion.
Overall, I thought this film was decent, besides the son (seriously, he raps?) who kept me from giving this film a higher review.
