The Visit manages a surprisingly effective blend of chills and laughs, a couple of talented leads, some impressively effective found-footage style and a sadly uneven atmosphere that sometimes looses it's footing.
Even so, M.Night Shyamalan has crafted a solid, often creepy horror story with solid characters and enough emotional payoff to be worth the watch.
