Review of The Visit (2015) by John K — 19 Dec 2015
After a seemingly endless downward spiral for once promising newcomer M. Night Shyamalan, he decided the best idea for his next movie was to have it be filmed by children, thus absolving himself from potential blunders. A convient excuse, most likely. However, what can not be excused is a complete failure of a script. The Visit aims to be a horror-comedy but I was never scared and I think the best the comedy did was a grin once or twice. The only positive takeaway from this movie is Olivia DeJonge who delivers a pretty decent performance, especially given the material she had to work with.
If you're craving some M. Night try rewatching the Sixth Sense.
