Review of The Virgin Suicides (2000) by Michelle H — 02 Aug 2010
An impressive flick. I'm a sucker for any seventies based film, and the era is caputured perfectly here. Only Boogie Nights does a better job. All of the acting is top notch, and the score and soundtrack really bring a lot to the film.
Not having read the book, I became more and more bothered by trying to figure out how the fate of 'the girls' would unwind. When it does, it is so sudden and handled in a way I didn't expect.
Something different and very enjoyable.
