Review of The Virgin Spring (1960) by Peter D — 24 Jul 2007
Absolutely beautiful cinematography done by the master Sven Nykvist, in his first collaboration with director Ingmar Bergman. Based on a medieval ballad, it is a beautiful film about tragedy, revenge, and remorse.
Later, it was remade by Wes Craven as "The Last House on the Left." However, Craven could never make something so beautiful as Bergman.
