Review of The Virgin Spring (1960) by Sean C — 01 Sep 2007
I saw this movie late night on PBS. It's a very powerful film addressing a violent rape of a Virgin and the violent revenge of the Father onto those who raped his daughter. The Black and white is gorgious.
The camera work is ripe with symbolism and metaphor, and the acting is so... -real- with an amazing look at a deeply religious christian family, and deeply wicked criminal brothers...
