Review of The Virgin Spring (1960) by Mike O — 14 Oct 2008
Wonderul, there is a mystic under-current in the plot that makes the film so much more palatable. It creates a conflict between man and God, man and nature, and christianity vs. paganism. All extentions of the inner conflict that arises when man encounters the unknown.
Oh and one more important thing, Bergman let's you here the sounds of the forest as the actors walk with leaves under their feet, thank you Mister Bergman.
