Review of The Virgin Spring (1960) by Krista B — 30 Dec 2008
You want to prove that Bergman is not a cold uncaring director? Show people this. Striking moving filmmaking that sticks in the head long after. Max Von Sydow gives a career best performance (yes, even better than Flash Gordon :)), as the father robbed of his daughter.
You can feel the pain of the character is every nuance. Visually striking, but watch this for the great story, there are very few better than it.
