A long time ago I told someone I didn't think The Vintner's Luck could ever be made into a movie. I'd read the book and thought it was beyond filming. I was wrong, and a little bit right. This film is based on the book, but doesn't tell the same story.
Which for me is a good thing, I didn't enjoy the book. But I loved this movie. It's just beautiful to look at. The story is simple and well told. And there's wine. Removing corks from wine bottles never looked so sexy.
