Review of The Vintner's Luck (2009) by Ws W — 15 Jun 2010
The symbolic of wine-making is supposed to be as large as- life. The directing/writing however seem to be more interesting in telling a love quadrilateral story rather than making any philosophical analysis.
The problem is even the narrative itself is so flat, plain, slow, lukewarm & sour. Jeremie Renier is good, not great though, as always. Keisha Castle-Hughes & Vera Farmiga are appropriate in their positions too.
Gaspard Ulliel is perfect for the outlook of the Angel Xas character- until he speaks with his heavy French accent, flat, low, muttering voice throughout the movie.
