Review of The Village (2004) by Ernie A — 27 Apr 2011
Absolutely the worst movie I have ever lived to see.
Plot, script, acting, soundtrack and the use of the camera is simply horrible. Granted, maybe this is Shyamalan's style and some appreciate it, but I found it terrible.
I found the whole story boring: A blind girl, Ivy, seeking remedies for her fiancée in the outer towns past a forbidden forest.
One thing that really bothered me were those dumb pauses. If you don't know what I mean, its those times when you have Ivy staring straight at the camera and says something, pause, and then comes the other line.
Camera handling? BAD! Ivy staring straight at me with an awkward pause, a slow zoom to a dead animal with an annoying buzzing sound, ugh.
This is the first Shyamalan movie I've seen, and it has given me a terrible impression. I do not recommend this movie at all, it is TERRIBLE.
