Review of The Village (2004) by Nina N — 08 Apr 2012
I've always liked M. Night Shyamalan. I think his style is what we are all afraid of...He doesn't SHOVE the scary things in our faces. They're just THERE, and if you're not paying attention, you might even miss it.
THAT'S what makes it scary. "The Village" is one of my favorite movies not only because of that, but because the story within this movie is kind of epic, love-story wise. A very brave blind woman will do ANYTHING to save her love.
It's a good concept brought to life in an exciting tale =) And as an added note, this story is PARTICULARLY scary because it could actually HAPPEN. There ARE secret societies like that, and THAT is scary.
It's not all about the "monsters", it could be a true story.
